Our Safeguarding Promise

KinderHeaven is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children. We recognize our legal and moral responsibility to protect children from harm and respond appropriately to concerns about abuse or neglect.

Our Safeguarding Framework

Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)

  • Sarah Mitchell, Nursery Manager (DSL)

  • James Carter, Early Years Teacher (Deputy DSL)

  • Both trained to advanced safeguarding level

  • Available during all operating hours

  • Direct liaison with local safeguarding authorities

Preventing Harm

  • Robust safer recruitment procedures for all staff

  • Enhanced DBS checks for every team member

  • Minimum of two staff members present at all times

  • Open-door policy encouraging parent observation

  • Regular safeguarding supervision for all practitioners

We are trained to identify signs of:

  • Physical abuse

  • Emotional abuse

  • Sexual abuse

  • Neglect

  • Online safety concerns

  • Domestic abuse

  • Extremism and radicalization

Responding to Concerns

  • All concerns taken seriously and documented

  • Immediate action following established procedures

  • Confidential record-keeping in secure systems

  • Partnership with Children's Social Care when needed

  • Support provided to children and families throughout

Safe Environment

  • Cameras used only in communal areas, never in toilets/changing

  • Strict mobile phone and photography policies

  • Visitors signed in and supervised at all times

  • Children only released to authorized adults

  • Regular safeguarding training for all staff
